My mom is better. You want to know how I can tell? She's starting to worry about people. She is the consummate worrier but that trait seemed to have waned when she was first admitted to the hospital. Last night I talked with her and she started in on worrying about my dad. That continued today and she sounded more like her old self. Now, we've got to get her into physical therapy - then home.
I tried to make chicken and dumplings today ala' Paula Deen. Either the recipe was entirely wrong or - no - the recipe had to be entirely wrong because I'm thinking that 2 cups of flour plus 1 1/2 cups of water won't make a dough you can roll out for anyone. Sean was going out so I sent him to buy the frozen dumplings from the local grocer. Thanks, Paula, but that one just didn't work other than to get my blood pressure up. I think I may be wired too tightly... A nice glass of merlot works wonders in situations like this!
I had success with the Pioneer Woman's Not Your Granny's Mac 'n Cheese last night. It's a great recipe, easy and delicious!
