I'm thinking that I don't take notice of awesome kids when they surround me. I'm around kids more than you'd expect seeing as I am not a school teacher or daycare employee. The only time I'm around them is at church or when I teach. I guess having childen and teens around all the time makes you kind of take them for granted...and that's just plain wrong.

We should celebrate them while they're young and fresh and innocent. I have three new piano students (all from the same family) and it got me to thinking because these kids are simply awesome. They're like cool breezes or...Henderson Beach!!! You know - that place that every time I turn the corner and see the ocean and beach I cry out like a little child, "LOOK! Look what God did!!"

Well, these new piano students make me just plain joyful. So, I stopped today and took a moment to think and to thank God for all the blessings of good and sweet girls. I know - there are sweet boys out there, too. After all, I'm a mom to two incredibly sweet boys. But, for now, these sweet girls are the ones on my heart. So, here's a little poem to them...to the sweet girls that our Lord created:

Did you ever meet a sweet girl?
A girl whose smile was fresh and new
each time a worthy thought entered?

How He did it, I'll never know.
That He created beings that brought
sweetness, energy, and flowers within
is more than anyone deserves
to take part in.

But I am ever grateful
that I met a sweet girl
with a sweet smile
that loves her Savior.
