Signs, Signs, Everywhere a Sign

Churches have to be...no, they should be so careful about how they present themselves to the world. After all, the building, sign, etc gives the public their first impression outside of an actual visit.

Those of us with snarky senses of humor and secure hearts (I'm saying that because I know that someone out there, possibly a relative?? will accuse me of being a heathen) love to laugh at ourselves when we see idiocy or corny ways of "welcoming" people to worship with us. Crummy Church Signs has to be #1 on the list of my favorites with Church Sign Generator coming in 2nd only because their's is made up. That, of course, doesn't make it any less funny which is the whole point, isn't it?

But, I want you to stop and take a look at this picture. It's a photograph of a church outside of Albany, GA. I actually had David stop the car so I could take pictures.

Yes, that's barbed wire. That's barbed wire around a church. Ugh! What a message. Unfortunately there's no laughter here. It's an embarrassment and I desperately want to stop and throw a stone. But, that might not work seeing as there's something about the first stone and all.
