Today I got an email from Murad. Now, Murad is a great high-end skincare company. I've never been able to afford to purchase the actual product, but have received samples. I admit, I love their stuff. It makes my skin feel wonderful and if I had the money (and there were no starving children in India because I'd forevermore feel guilty about that), I would have scads of the
products on my shelf. But, the email I got today was entitled "Get Josie Bissett's Youthful Glow!" I looked at the photo of Josie and thought to myself, "I'd have that same youthful glow if I were her age!" Wikipedia says she was born in 1970. Good grief! I was in high school in 1970! I'm taking a stand here and now saying that there needs to be more than this shakey "truth in advertising" when it comes to stuff like this. There needs to be "REALITY" instead! Truth is subjective when it comes to looks. Reality is another story completely. So, I'm proposing a call to arms here - Women 45 yrs+ - buy from companies that are honest with us. Buy from companies that advertise using women 45+ yrs old instead of 38 yr olds. Heck! At 38 even I looked good! But, now that I'm 53...ugh - I thought long and hard about putting that out there - well, just give me some truth! Women of our time (I'll not say "age") are ready for products that work for women our age - not products that are advertised with women 15 yrs younger than we are. Come on! We'll support you! Heck! I even know women 10 yrs younger than I am that would be on board.
