I really do hate Wednesdays until they're over. Then I rejoice not only in the fact that they're over, but in the way God works in spite of my ickiness. After 5 phone calls from people letting me know they were sick and wouldn't be there plus a phone call from a family member (all during piano teaching time) I just knew for certain that the only thing to make the day go better would be a flare up of my sciatic nerve.

It flared and David had to run home with me for enough time to adjust the pad things on my electric shock treatments. Okay - it's actually a tens unit, but electric shock sounds much more effective. Since the sticky pad connectors are on my backside I have to have help getting them on and off. Ah! Dignity...tell me again, what's that?

We get back and I swear to goodness, God is purely incredible in how He uses people to do His plans. I had asked beautiful 14 yr old Sarah to give a ministry presentation on Kids LAKE so our New Hope kids could see they, too could serve and make a difference. She was great, even when I told her that not only would it be our group of kids but the rest of the church in total. All of them. She was awesome. She even had our little ones asking questions during the talk in front of the adults.

While searching for the perfect container for our kids to put their contributions toward mosquito nets, medicines for HIV, rice, etc I at first thought something simple and organic looking would be best. But, while at the store, David called me over to an aisle and showed me this silly looking zebra bank. It hit me then, that it was perfect - all kids like fun and happy. After all, these kids are incredibly excited about what they're undertaking. They found out tonight that a mosquito net would cost $7. One child put in a quarter, another a dollar, and Kira walked up to me afterwards, when no one else was around and put a 5 dollar bill in. I asked her if she was sure and her response was, "Yep! They need it and I was just going to waste it."

The older girls will be planning activities that the younger ones can do to earn monies to give. Working with their own hands to earn money for those who have little or nothing means hearts are ripe for ministry. It's watching God at work. Wednesdays like this are awesome.

Great bank! Creative idea to use it! Hey - the short answer to your "desk question" is yes! A longer answer follows your comment on my blog.

I'm very much enjoying your blog too!
