I have always been a Mama's girl. I guess with three older brothers it was bound to happen. I remember so vividly sitting and looking up at Mama while she put on her makeup, powdered & perfumed, and got dressed all the way down to those spiked high heels. She inspired me to be girly and I consider that to be a great gift.

I discovered a new blog today and yes, I've added it to my GoogleReader. This paragraph came from it and reminded me once again of what it was like growing up as a daughter to such a lovely feminine mom:
As we were painting, Morgan her own toes and I mine, she said out of the blue, "Mommy, I remind myself of someone..."

"Who?" I asked, smiling at how that sounded so cute phrased as such.

"I'm not sure, but I think I remind myself of you."
I know I'll never be the woman my mother is, but she still inspires me to this very day to remember how important it is to celebrate the gift of femininity.
