Sponsor a child...now

I wrote a week ago about Mukashyaka, the 9 yr old little girl from Rwanda David and I are sponsoring through Compassion International. We have a friend who fought in the Viet Nam war - who suffers from terrible memories - and yet God has used that in a powerfully redeeming way because he now sponsors a little Vietnamese girl. The youth at New Hope sponsor a child. So, that's three...out of how many millions of hungry children?

We are told to care for the weak, the hungry, imprisoned, the widows, the orphans. Dave and I really don't have "extra" for much of anything. But, how can we dare not at least try to follow the commands of Jesus if we say we love Him? We made a small change in our lifestyle - one so small that now that I think of it, I'm embarrassed. We canceled the daily paper and that money now goes to Mukashyaka. If we can do this, so can you.
