Henley stood and took a few steps aided by a beach towel sling and gentle leading and pushing. Agony to watch! A friend from church (vet) came by to check on him and showed David and Sean how to help lift him. She examined the "hock" place that I keep referring to as "the place between his knee and ankle" and said it didn't feel feverish which was good, but it did have fluid on it. She felt like the meds he is on should help with that and she'd come by to see him again and take care of it otherwise.
Then, he peed like crazy - all over the place! Again - agony because it comes so fast that there's not a whole lot you can do about it. Thankfully, he was on the tile floor with lots of blankets and protective pads along with plastic shower curtains beneath it all. Still, it took two full rolls of paper towels to clean up to the point I could mop.
I'd have taken a picture of the whole standing thing but I was so scared they were going to hurt him that I had to leave the room. I'm a big ol' baby when it comes to dogs being hurt.
It looks like he'll hold permanent residency in the tiled front hallway until he's mobile again.
Pray for strong back legs for the pup!
