He's home

Henley is now laying here, quiet & tired, but alert. I swear to goodness, it's a sure sign that Great Danes have emotional attachments that are strong to the point of life & death.

Our hearts broke whenever we allowed ourselves to stop and think of him there, alone at the vet's. But, we knew it was what we had to do...okay, David knew it was what we had to do.

He came home with Doxycycline and Deramaxx. If anyone reading this has experience with the breed and knows these meds, leave a comment for me. We desperately - desperately want him to live. We're hoping the meds along with our TLC will eventually end with his being able to stand again. Even as sick as he is, he'll sit up, but he has to be able to stand. David discovered a swollen place on the tendon that is between his arthritic knee and ankle (if a dog has a knee and ankle - you know what I mean). He thinks that must be where the infection lies.

Thank you all for your continued prayers. We love our Henley.
