Bubba is coming home!

Talked with Daddy last night. He stumbles more in his speech than ever and it frustrates him, but he sounded good.

You know how you hear older people talk about not wanting a computer and how they'll never understand why in the world people are so enthralled with them? I wish they'd spend a day in Daddy's shoes. He's not as computer savvy as Mama was. But, he loves sending and receiving email. He also loves putting down his thoughts. He'll send me something to format for him; he asks me to "pretty it up." Then, he keeps a file just for these items. He also types up and prints out what he calls Bubba and Leroy jokes for his Sunday School class. He says they get a big kick out of them

He named his computer "Bubba" because it needed to have a machine name so that Steve, one of Daddy's dear friends, could access it from his work and fix any problems. Bubba went kaput while Steve was on vacation, so Daddy has gone a week or so without it. Every time I spoke with him, he would say how he wished his computer worked. He gets lonely late in the evening and said this was what not only kept his brain alert, but also filled the time.

When I spoke with him last night he said he thought his computer would be coming home today and you could hear how thankful he was. I'll be expecting emails shortly!

The old picture is a treasure Mama had tucked away in the bottom drawer of her jewelry box.
