Family

You don't choose your family.
They are God's gift to you, as you are to them.
Desmond Tutu

Just spent an evening with good friends - really good friends - doing nothing but talking and enjoying a glass of wine. Conversation ran the gamut, but one thing was always in common: family. It might have been immediate family or extended. It might have been church family or old school chums...okay - maybe some of my school chums were like shark chum...but I digress. Conversation always ran toward people who counted. I love that. So, I post these pictures of two people whom I love so very much.

As much as I love my "blood" family, I am so very grateful for those family members that I may not share dna with. Those family members who love me because I'm a child of the King Who has chosen to put us together. Those family members who aren't judgmental, but love and laugh and (let me use a "preachy/christian" term here) rejoice in the moment of the day filled with both joy & sorrow.
