Recital = Awesome

I just got in from the piano recital and could not be happier nor more proud of my kids. Each of them played beautifully. Here's the real sweet part, though. I couldn't turn to watch the reaction of people because I needed to focus on each student as he/she played. David was in the doorway facing them and said that at times, the residents of the nursing home were softly clapping and singing along to the music they're so familiar with.

One of my students gave me pink roses afterward and as I was packing up to leave, there were 4 ladies still waiting to be taken back to their rooms. I gave each of them a long stemmed pink rose. They spoke so gratefully of the children coming to play for them. It was awesome.
