Conversation with Daddy

Mama with a friend. I remember her telling me about this picture one day while sitting on Grandmama's front porch. I wish I could remember her friend's name. I believe she said they were about 15 years old. She may have only been 15 years old, but check out that red lipstick! She was a glamour girl from the get-go.

I have no idea as to her age here.

Daddy - he's lost a lot of weight since this photo from the mid 70s

Just spent time talking with Daddy. Conversations always come back to Mama. We'll begin with his health, work toward the garden and weather, and then to Mama. She had such impact on everyone's lives around her.

There's a picture hanging above their bed and as you walk down their hallway it's the first thing you see. It was from several years ago. She's standing behind Daddy with her arms wrapped around him. Both are smiling, so warm and so comfortable in their love for each other. Daddy says every time he walks down that hall it hits him all over again as he see the picture.

He does seem to be adjusting now. He says he still gets incredibly lonely at night. I know he is so appreciative of Mike & Patsy (brother & sister-in-law). It's a wonderful thing they do day in and day out, making sure he is cared for.

We'll be going up soon. Hopefully, Mama's headstone will be in place. We'll get to visit with Daddy, Adam , & Shonda. Dave & I love them all so much.
