Movers & Shakers!

We brought Mick and Stevie home Friday and have been letting them adjust for a couple of days before trying to train them. The first thing I've noticed about these two in particular is how active they are. I guess I need to force myself not to compare them to Henley. We still miss him so much. While David and I were at Petsmart purchasing new bowls, beds, etc we nearly ended up in tears thinking of Hen. Our goal is to love Mick and Stevie fiercely until they return the love. We need sweet lovey dogs and they've both come a long way in two days. Stevie in particular is sweeter and more apt to come up for a nuzzle. If we love on Mick she's sure to poke her head in between so as not to be left out.

We did start a "sit" before going outside. This morning I opened up the training bits and Stevie immediately sat. Once Mick saw she got a treat his bum hit the floor anticipating his own. Now, to work on getting them to come when called.

Pictures won't be as often as with Henley because I can't get these two to stay still long enough. They're snoozing on the floor right now and if I go over with my camera they're up and moving! Maybe instead of "come" I need to teach them to "stay" instead! They do have the most comical faces - very funny and expressive.
