Tonight I had a child come to me:
"Mrs. Bunny, you know my mom? Well, she's not doing so well. She's, well, she's an addict. She started being an addict when she was 16. She kept being an addict until she was like 31. Then she started going to meetings where she said, "my name is _____ and I'm an addict." It did her a lot of good. She stopped for a long time. But then she started back. We're by ourselves. It scares me but she is trying. I throw her cigarettes out because she says she wants to stop smoking. But, she's an addict again. Will you pray for my mama?"
If the above doesn't sound logical or doesn't make sense, it's because it came from a 9 year old little girl. It's pretty much verbatim, with her repeating stuff she's heard and yet reaching out in the best way she knows how. The baby girl has faith that the God we teach her about actually cares. He does. And He acts through us...

a "paradox" post....both heartbreaking & encouraging/inspiring.
