The dress I'm wearing in this picture was the first thing Mama ever sewed. She saved it for me and when she brought it out years ago laughed as she turned up the hem to show me how she hemmed it on the machine because according to her this was a real "no-no" for a well made garment. I still have it stored away.
It may have been the first she made for me but it was the beginning of many. She would always be amazed at how I could remember dresses from when I was maybe 2 or 3 yrs old. I could describe them in detail including fabrics & colors. She made most of my clothes through high school and even made my wedding gown. I miss her so much.
