Reality

I will never forget the night that my mom and I were shopping at Westgate Mall (yes, I'm that old!) in Macon. A woman got out of her car with her newborn baby. Somehow we ended up talking to her. The baby was...most unattractive. My mother looked at the baby and exclaimed, "Oh, my! Look at that sweet baby! I know you're so happy being his mother."

We walked away and she turned to me and said, "That's one of the ugliest babies I've ever seen." I laughed but got the message: Sometimes you just need to be quiet about things. Sometimes, people don't need to know what you think. Sometimes, you (or others) might just have a skewed view of reality.
