Chernobyl to be 'extreme' tourism site

Ukraine says it intends to attract "extreme" tourists to Chernobyl, site of the world's worst nuclear disaster, as part of an effort to develop its tourism. Read the rest of the UPI article here.

My favorite quote regarding this comes from Shoebox Blog:
The site of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster will open for tourism. So, ride the new roller coaster and get your free t-shirt that says, “look Ma, no hands!”

Chernobyl, or at least the area around it, is already safe to visit, I read somewhere. "Disaster tourism" is not unusual these days, with thrill-seekers on a rush to go to the places they deem dangerous and to the places where historical mishaps once happened. Together with extreme tourism, it has taken traveling to the next level. Preparation for this kind of adventure is a step higher. Even getting a life insurance is not taken lightly.
