Losing Track of Time

Time Flies
Frida Kahlo

I read a blog post the other day (and now cannot find it) that said one of the easiest ways to lose track of time is to begin your day by opening your email, checking facebook, and reading blogs. Guess what I do every single morning. I think the poster must have planted a surveillance camera in my house because he caught me spot on.

This morning I decided to try a different route and see how it went. I began with my Bible study. I'm using the Greek Orthodox Daily Reading plan so spent time in Ephesians this morning. By the time I finished it was 10:30.

Next, I actually made myself not check email, other than to send off a note to a piano parent about schedule. I did some housework and then it was one o'clock. Sure, I got a lot done, but now I have 73 emails, 373 blog posts to read, and no telling how many facebook updates to read.

I don't know that I feel better about this or not. I feel way behind.
