Okay - here's the story:
There's a charming - absolutely charming and quirky - house with a view of the bay in Valparaiso just down the street that goes up for rent. We talk with the owners. They say no dogs. We thank them and leave. They call us saying they've changed their minds, they want us to take the house, even with the dogs. We decide we can't afford it. The church adjusts the housing allowance. They rent the house to another family. Later, Dave notices the signs are down so he sends a card saying if it ever becomes available, to let us know. Next thing we know the signs are back up and then down again. They call back and say they're not sure what they're going to do. Their daughter is coming down for a month of so and will be staying in the house. We then get another call from them and they tell us they're now going to move into this smaller lovely charming home and sell their large home facing the bay. We find another house with awesome people and the rent much more in line with what we can afford. It's in ValP and even closer to the church than now. We put a deposit on it and start breathing again...okay - except for the spells of panic when it comes to packing, and that's just me. Today, the owners of the first home calls saying they want us to rent the house!!! Egad! What's wrong with people?? We thought about how incredibly taken we were with the home, but told them we'd since found another place. We're happy with our decision. The owners of the house we'll be moving to are warm and friendly...normal people.
David says it's me that draws the crazy people in. I guess I'll just have to put a spin on it as adding adventure to our lives!
