Joy! Oh, Joy! The tedious wine label art is complete. I've discovered that removing wine labels is incredibly tedious work. Can I add the word "contrary" to an inanimate object, because one label would come off perfectly fine and the next would be the stubborn step-child of labels! But, with help from David (he held the unyielding labels taut while I gingerly painted on glue remover) all the labels were ready. I used an organic technique to dye the labels...okay, I used coffee to dye them, but doesn't organic sound more arty? Matte medium, gesso, and acrylic paints were used on the 5 x 5 canvases. I'm pleased.
