It seems the Brits are trying to see to it that Cheeta gets his much deserved BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) award. I'm hoping our votes here in the USA will count!
A MESSAGE FROM CHEETA.
Dearest British humans,
I’ll always had very special memories of the United Kingdoms since it was here, in County Wiltshire, that I made my last picture, the artistically and commercially disastrous Dr. Dolittle, with Rex Harrison - a catastrophic experience in every respect.
Nonetheless, and despite several running feuds with expat British stars (the ludicrous Chaplin, the unspeakable Rex, and bloody Jane), I retain a soft spot for this animal-loving nation of yours: after all, Tarzan himself was born here. So it’s fitting that it should be you Brits who (fingers crossed) finally rectify the omissions of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame committee.
On behalf of all thespian animals everywhere I am profoundly humbled by this British campaign to recognize our work. Britain - where chimps mean tea. And one day, who knows, a Bafta Award may even be considered as valuable as an Oscar!
In deepest gratitude,
Cheeta
